Jorge,
It sounds like you are using parameter queries which don't support "the form opens up". IMO, never ever use parameter prompts in your queries. All interaction should be through controls on forms. You might want to read about some reasoning at http://www.tek-tips.com/faqs.cfm?fid=6763. Keep the form open and you should not have to re-enter the criteria value.
BTW, my summer is fantastic!

Subject: [MS_AccessPros] Parameter QUERY stops working
Hello everyone. I hope you are all having a fantastic summer.
I am using access 2013 and I have set up some parameter queries.
They all work fine, the form opens up, I enter the criteria and it finds the records.
The problem is that after a while they stop working.
I enter the criteria, I say OK, then I have to enter the criteria again and says OK for it to work.
In another words, I have to enter the criteria twice.
I can fix this if I open the query in design view, I deleted the code from the field I want to use as criteria, I save the query, go back to it on design view and enter the code again.
Why does it do that?
Thanks.
