[MS_AccessPros] Re: Access 2007 Security

Youssef

I use a user table with a field for permissions. That same field is a foreign key to a UserGroup table. When a user opens the database, I get his network name using Environ("USER"). From that, I can check which group he is in and set a global variable. My main menu startup form is then coded to show or hide buttons based on that variable. Subsequent forms's properties are also set.

If you Google "ms access security 2010" you will find several articles on how developers set up security in Access.
