Here is information on how Access stores dates

Access stores dates the same way Excel does.

Subject: [MS_AccessPros] Converting time to a number

I have a field that is a date datatype (short time).  Lots of data have (has?) already been entered.  It was a mistake to use a date datatype so is there a reasonably easy way to convert all of the times to numbers.  I know that Access stores dates and times in an unusual way and everything I've tired so far gets me "interesting" results.
