RE: [MS_AccessPros] Cannot use S:\thefile.mdb file already in use

Patty

Along with all the other advice, I'll add this: The user could inadvertently
opened the FE more than once. Next time it happens have the user call you so you
can prompt him/her to open the Task Manager and look under the Applications tab
to see if the FE is indeed open more than once.

Thanks for the quick response Jeff
The problem was report as random, but now I can ask a few questions and maybe
get a better idea of what is going on.

Re - turning Access off softly
I'm not 100% sure what you mean by this.
??? using the Exit Application button on the menu or clicking the X (close)
button on the top right corner of the window

the issue occurs after the database has been opened and then closed, you might
look into how the database is being closed. It could be that Access isn't being
softly shut down.
