Sheila-

You're missing the Outlook library in VBA in the new project. Open the VB Editor, choose References from the Tools menu, then scroll down until you find the Microsoft Office Outlook library and check it. Then try your recompile.

I never touched the module so I'm further perplexed. Should I try importing one group of objects at a time, or is that futile?

The Startup properties are in Access Options / Current Database.

I think I understood all the steps except the last one. I don't know where the Startup properties are set. Is that in VBA code? That's over my head.

The problem is the parts of the VBA project have become "disconnected" from the associated forms / reports.

Try this:

1) Create a new empty database. Make sure you turn of Auto Correct in this database.

2) Import all the objects from the "broken" database

3) Open the VB Editor (CTRL+G works), and choose Compile from the Debug menu. If you get no errors, Save the project.

4) Compact and Repair the new database.

5) Put back the Startup properties that were set in the old database.

Here's the problem I have:

On Tuesday (9/9), I opened Database A in one instance of Access and made some cosmetic changes to the main form. Then I opened Database B in another instance of Access to make a few quick changes as I waited for a meeting with the user for Database A. In Database B, I made a few edits to some sub-forms that reside on the main form. I selected a text box and thought I was typing a word into a property field. (Yes, I believe I have AutoCorrupt on, which I've since learned I shouldn't.) Suddenly the screen seemed to freeze, and I got a message box asking if I wanted to save changes. I decided I better, so I clicked OK. Both instances of Access disappeared. When I try to re-open Database B (which I have more than once), I get this message: The expression On Open you entered as the event property produced the following error: Return to GoSub.

I looked up the error message online, but the suggestions, like Decompiling, were over my head. Of course, Compact & Repair didn't work. It was late in the day so I gave up.

The next day, I opened Database A without using the shift key. When I expanded the left panel, I selected the form, right-clicked Open, and the form opened! Magic? I worked on the form for most of the day thinking I could at least get some work done until Liz returns. I saved frequently in vain. In the afternoon, I closed the database. Then I thought of a quick change, and tried to re-open the database, and I got the same message again.

I'm totally mystified, worried, and out of ideas. Can anyone help? I really don't want to text Liz while she's on vacation.
