I agree with John. The best way to use a shared database is to split it. There is a built-in wizard to do this, but it can be done manually, too. The idea is to put all the tables in one file. Place that file (called the back end or BE) in the shared server folder. everything else goes in a file (called the front end or FE) located on your local drive. Each user should have his own local copy of the FE,

Then I would suspect a problem on your network or the server. I don't think it has anything to do with changing operating systems or Access version.
