Re: [MSAccessProfessionals] SQL data suddenly very slow in Access FE

hi Jane, as Duane said, Microsoft is aware of this and they jumped on it quickly. It's fixed in the latest Beta build, 17304.20000

and will ripple through channels later. Meanwhile, you can have your users revert to a previous version -- but that might be asking for too much. Ask them to have a little patience in the new year ~ then all will be well again :)

Thanks Richard,
I have 2 comparable tables (in terms of number of  fields &  data type). The Access BE one has 60k records & is pretty much instant to open it & skip down to the last record. The one in sql-server is only 30k records and is taking 30 seconds to skip to the last record. Before Monday it too was pretty much instant.
I've got 25 nurses who would usually be answering help line calls to disabled children's parents, sitting around unable to work or back using pen & paper. Unfortunately this may well be the final nail in the coffin for Access as far as this company is concerned :-(.

I've noticed this recently as well. I have a lot of databases that connect to my website's SQL Server. I've noticed they're taking a good 3 to 5 seconds longer to connect recently. Once connected they work fine, however.
