hi Steve,
Great book. I have that on my shelf too.
That is the Calendar control, which is no longer included. You may, however, be able to find MSCAL.OCX on your computer and add a reference to it.
Here is another contact example. The calendar it uses was created by a form, so doesn't need that control.

This contact template download is a split application, with front-end and back-end, as well as folders below for referenced files. It is meant for teaching and is also a useful application you can customize.
have an awesome day,
crystal

When I open a sample database from a book an error window tells me that "Your database contains a missing or broken reference to the file 'MSCAL.OCX' version 7.0."
Advice as to how to deal with this missing or broken reference?
The book is Microsoft Office Access 2007 Inside Out by Viescas and Conrad. The database is Contacts.accdb that is on the CD that comes with the book. Using Windows 10 and Access 2016.
Thanks.
Steve

Have you tried the highest rated email app?
With 4.5 stars in iTunes, the Yahoo Mail app is the highest rated email app on the market. What are you waiting for? Now you can access all your inboxes (Gmail, Outlook, AOL and more) in one place. Never delete an email again with 1000GB of free cloud storage.
