Robin,
Are you certain Exclude is a yes/no field?
If Exclude is a text field and not a yes/no, you will get the #Type! error
Is it possible some values might be Null?
What exactly is your control source?
Duane

Thanks Duane,
I named the control "ExcludeR" and I get this: #Type!

Robin

Robin,
If I understand correctly you should be able to set the control source to:
=IIf([Exclude] =True, "Exclude","")
Make sure the name of the control is NOT exclude.
I could be wrong if you are attempting to filter the records based on the value of Exclude or something else. "need a field content for" doesn't make much sense to me.

I have a report with a Yes/No field called 'exclude'. I only need a
field content for the "Yes" option. I have tried this:
Iif [Exclude] = false, "Exclude", " "
which fails. What have I forgotten? BTW I am 87!
