Re: [MS_AccessPros] Calculation on formula.

Hi Patty,

Since "=, >=, <=" are the possible expressions, I would change your table structure to have two numeric fields and then use a simple "BETWEEN [X Field] and [Y Field]". This would scale more easily to other systems and perform much better than using an expression that needs to be evaluated.

The formulas are all text fields but a combination of =, >=, <= and a number character. The values to evaluate are all numbers.
Is there a way to use Val to capture the number value in the text field and then capture the operator portion another way?

On top of everything we are in the midst of moving and I'm trying to figure this out by phone as work computers are very locked down and I'm moving and temporarily separated from personal machines.

Thank you for your consideration.
Patty

Table has a reported value field which is number, and formula field which is text ( > 80) as an example. I need to determine if reported vale satisfies formula and I'm stumped! Appreciate any assistance. Thank you.
