RE: [MS_AccessPros] RE: connection string for passthrough query

I don’t know how I would do this because our Access is within a Citrix Environment.

Liz - Open Access as an Administrator. Right-click the Access icon to get that choice. Then build your DSN file. See if that makes a difference.

Also, you can open a DSN in NotePad and see if it needs editing.

And I failed…  I was able to pull one field down and once the query got more complicated, I got the same error messages.

Hold it.  I knew after hours of sweat and then finally posting here I would get it.

I think I’m on something.  I was looking at a table that simply is NOT on that particular server.

HEE HEE!

Pros, I have been successful running numerous queries with a certain sql server and its respective connection string.

However, ! I need to point to a different server, and have odbc table links to it.  When I click on the ellipsis in the connection string property field, and the wizard prompts me though the dsn to select the server, it does build a connection string and asks me to save the credentials, and to test it for this time, I do.

Then I try to run it, and it still prompts me for a user/pass and then gives me an ODBZC – call failed.  Bla db2 for i5/os sql0104 – token ; was not valid valid tokens <end-of-statement> but there isn’t even a semi colon at the end of the connection string anyway.

Ideas?
