[MS_AccessPros] Subscript Out Of Range Using Text Import Wizard

 Greetings All,

A colleague of mine was attempting to import a pipe delimited text file to an existing table using the text import wizard. He selected Other for the delimiter character and typed the pipe in the text box. When he clicked on the Next button, he received a Subscript out of range error.

We were able to get around this by changing the text file to a tab delimited file to create the import specification. I then had him import the pipe delimited file using the import specification he just created and then change the delimiting character to the pipe. The import specification was modified when he clicked finish at the end of the wizard.

We are using Access 2007 on Windows 7. Has anyone else encountered this? I searched for this on Google but, all the hits were referencing an Excel import.

Darrell
