RE: [MS_AccessPros] Access 2000 to access 2010

Tony-

See if they'll take the book back. "Dummies" books are notoriously bad,
especially the screen dumps. The authors are pressed to put a book out at or
before software release, so they often go out with "beta" screen dumps that
don't look anything like the final product.

But having said that, the "File Tab" is in the upper left corner. You'll see it
as soon as you open Access 2010, and it's usually colored red. The other tabs
you'll see on the opening screen are Home, Create, External Data, and Database
Tools. See if that helps you get beyond page 22!

Subject: [MS_AccessPros] Access 2000 to access 2010

Hi all – I'm new to this group, and even newer to Access 2010. I'm leaving my
comfortable world of Access 2000 to the wilds of 2010. I just got back from
Barns and Noble with an Access 2010 for dummies manual by Laurie Fuller, and Ken
Cook. I got all the way to page 21 before I got stumped. Aside from the fact
that my computer screen doesn't look anything like what's described in the book
I came across some jargon, and something called "File Tab" that I don't know how
to get to, and the word "Backstage" that I`ve never heard before in Access 2000.
Can anyone help me thru my transition to 2010? I'm sure when I get to page 22
I'll have more questions.
Thanks - Tony
