[MS_AccessPros] Re: Archiving of data question

Hi Jim,

I assume that CPA is 'Certified Public Accountant'.

Accounts usually have to be prepared annually.
This is what the IRS says:

A foundation must keep books, reports, and file returns
based on an annual accounting period called a tax year.
A tax year is usually 12 consecutive months. There are
two kinds of tax years:
_Calendar Tax Year:
This is a period of 12 consecutive months beginning
January 1 and ending December 31; or,
_Fiscal Tax Year:
This is a period of 12 consecutive months ending on the
last day of any month except December.

Why not ask your client exactly what information
they need to be archived. They are in the right
position to specify it.

Regards, Clive.

Because the firm is a CPA firm the accounting can span over a fiscal year for a project. A project is the process of what kind of accounting is done and how it is done. The client wants to archive the records for Fiscal Years, but I am having difficulty trying to figure out how to do this because the project can span past a fiscal year.
