RE: [MS_AccessPros] Create a Demo Copy

Lee-

Well first, you have to build a "locked down" application that disables the
Shift key (set the AllowBypassKey property) and distribute only an MDE file that
has startup properties set correctly. Then, you have a couple of options:

1) Write the first open date and today's date to a "hidden" table and then check
it on each startup

2) Write a registry key that you check on startup

Either method can be broken by a really smart user. In your startup code,
you'll also need to check to see if the user has set back the clock by checking
both the first open and last startup dates.

Hope that helps...

Subject: [MS_AccessPros] Create a Demo Copy

I just joined so sorry if this question has been asked before.

Any input on how to limit the use of a demo copy?

Working in Access 2003.

Thanks

Lee Nicholas
