Hi Boris,
I suspect this is when Word is auto-saving. You will find there IS a pattern --whatever your defaults are.
File (or round button) > Options > Save > Save AutoRecover information every XX minutes
WHERE
XX is a number. Default is 10. I change it to 30. This is convenient on the rare occasions that Word crashes while you are editing. If you want it to autosave, then wait the XX minutes before rebooting your computer since there is no way to know the last time it happened, so I play it safe. I only have to do this every few years.
when I am working on a long document that takes a lot of time to autosave, sometimes I turn this off if it is too annoying.
Warm Regards,
Crystal

At various times, with no logic or consistency, Word stops responding to keyboard. If you do not watch the screen, the previous sentence might look this:
At various times, with no logiistency, Word stops responding to keyboard.
The same MS office 2007 package worked flawlessly on the previous computer for several years.
The keyboard is wireless; I just changed batteries, but it is not helping.
Any suggestion?
Thank you!
Boris
