Add a Boolean field (yes no) called "locked" and a button that sets the value to true, or toggles it.
With the oncurrent event of the form, have me.allowedits = false if the me.locked = true.

Subject: [MS_AccessPros] locking individual records
I'm in the process of updating information in a database over a several week period. Each "customer" has more than 70 different fields of data what must be reviewed and there's more than 3,500 customers in the database.
Is there any way to "lock" an individual customer's record so I don't mistakenly change something after I've reviewed and changed an individual customer.
I suspect there isn't, but asking just in case someone knows of something.
