My apologies i could not reply you earlier as my health was not good and i was away from my laptop/net.

Thank you very much for your reply and you are always welcomed if you have any suggestion or solution and i would highly appreciate it.

In the meanwhile while i was at home i made a solution for my requirements and setup. In my case we have only Text box to enter "WeightOfCarton" and that entry is assumed as Weight in "KGS".

I included a Text box "CartonQty" having Default  Value 1, Tab Stop --> No, so when my user is doing data entry he enters "CartonNo" and obviously "CartonQty" is set to 1, but when it is the same "Product" cartons quantity is more than one he enters that quantity "CartonQty".

Once again i thank you for your reply and suggestion, which i would keep in mind for any future requirements.

I am not trying to butt into your conversation with John, but we used to have a similar problem with our products.

Our solution was to have several different units of measure.  For example, we would have an Inventory U/M, a Purchasing U/M and a Selling U/M.

While we may stock items as each, we may purchase them in hundreds or thousands of units.

As an example, we used to purchase steel in hundred weight (CW) but inventory it in (lb).  The program knew the conversion factory between the two units of measure.  So it would receive 1 CW and put 100 lb in inventory.

I believe I understand though that you may have a different problem in that different suppliers may be sending you the same product in different units of measure.  This could certainly be handled in a similar way.

The difference in this method vs the one John was recommending is that this method keeps the inventory part numbers the same, while John is accomplishing this by using different part numbers.  Either solution will work.
