As long as you have that, then in the code you can replace the old server name with the new server name and recompile.
There are multiple ways to improve this situation, however. One is to store the server name, database name, login id and password in a local table and then reconstruct the connection string at start up. Then try to make a connection to the server; if it fails, prompt the user for replacement values and store those.
