Thanks for the responses! No, there are no shortcuts to other programs or macros involved here that I'm aware of. I'm convinced that it issue is related somehow to the update of virtual machine, and I just need to figure out what that is. It's possible that the VM update did do something to the Ctrl-C in Access, and I'll try to track that down once this critical project is finished. Ctrl-C works just find in Excel, however.

James - by any chance, do you have a macro named AutoKeys in your database. AutoKeys is a macro that can be built to override special keys. There might be a combination of Ctrl+C that has two steps: one to copy and one to run the query.Bill

I've never seen that happen. Are you copying the query in the Navigation Pane? When I copy a query I just hold down the Ctrl key and drag the query a bit away from itself.
