[b]Is it [i]actually[/i] fixed width format?[/b] You should be the one to
make that call, not Access.
It seems strange that the message pops up before you have even defined the
number or lengths of the fields. It almost sounds as if the [i]record[/i],
not the [i]field[/i] is too long.
[b]Are you sure there are actually line breaks between the records?[/b]
(Open the textfile in Notepad and make sure each record starts on a new
line)
Finally, [b]can you identify anything that is different between this import
and the others you have done successfully?[/b]
