Walter-
Check your Sorting and Grouping settings. You probably have the old field
defined in there.

P.S. It's a good idea to start a new thread when you switch to a different

reports
John:
OOPs, my bad.
On a different note can anyone tell me how to remove an "enter Parameter Prompt"
box that insists on occuring when loading a report? It is asking for a field
that no longer exists, it has been purged from the recordsource query that loads
the report and there are no controls on the report that require it as the
control source.
