RE: [MS_AccessPros] "Insert into" query with an attachment field

Walter-

One "feature" of multi-valued fields (Attachment data type is multi-valued) is
that they cannot be used AT ALL in an INSERT query. Why are you loading report
records into a table? Can you use a query that includes the Attachment field as
the Record Source instead?

It is possible to copy multi-valued fields in code, but it involves opening up a
second Recordset on the "hidden" table in the multi-valued field.

See:

.. that I just uploaded to the Files / Articles_Excerpts section.

Subject: [MS_AccessPros] "Insert into" query with an attachment field

Hello group,
Back with one more thing, I have several queries that build reports and some
have photos attached. when the query runs it builds the datasheet correctly but
will not build the table used to make the report. I get a "an INSERT INTO query
cannot contain a multi-valued field" As is an Attachment field. How do I make
this work?
We spent several messages back and forth a couple of months ago, about OLE
fields because I could not get them to display at all in 2007/2010 (works fine
in 2K)
