I had a similar issue. I think there was an update that broke the date function on XP computers running the 2010 runtime of Access.
The problem never happened to me on Win7 computers, either runtime or full product.

Subject: [MS_AccessPros] Error with date function
Hello all,
I opened a database this morning and I get a message that says
Undefined function 'Date' in expression.
The database is usually run in Office 2010 but I think that I opened the database in office 2013 once. Will this cause the database from not opening?
Thank You
Jim Wagner
