You can't easily compact from code. The only way to do it through code is to make a copy, compact that, delete the original and then rename the new one to the original name.
It really isn't worth the effort unless you just don't have someone competent enough to compact the DB without opening it. That can be done by just opening Access and selecting the file to compact. No menus are involved in your application since it is never really opened for compacting.
