Good luck using a PC as a server. Performance will be terrible. But to link to the tables all you have to do is create a File DSN through your Control Panel>Administrative Tools>ODBC Admin. Follow the steps to conenct to your SQL server instance and make sure you set the default database to the one that has your tables.
Save the DSN file to a shared folder and lilnk the tables using that DSN.As you get more advanced skills under your belt, you can write code to link without a DSN file.
