Re: [MS_AccessPros] Combo Box

I tested with A 2016 and the find as you type with a table worked as expected. I don't recall ever using either a table or query name as a row source. I always use an SQL statement like:
Select StateAbbrev, StateName from tblStates Order By StateName.

I have a combo boxes on a form. The row source is a table. For example I have a state table that is the row source. The combo box works, but if I start typing a value I would like it to automatically bring up the appropiate items from the state table. For example if I type 'new' then all the states that start with 'new' should come up. This does not work if the row source is a table, but it does work if the row source is a query. If I crate a query based on my state table and use it as the row source, it works fine. If the row source is a table, then it should shows the enries from the very begining starting with 'A".

Is this by design?. Or do I need to change my settings?. The table is linked to a back end. I would like the row source to be the table, so I dont have to create 'extra' queries.

I am using Access 2003.

As always all help is appreciated.

Sarah
