Re: [MS_AccessPros] Re: Format Currency problem

Hi Kevin,

each time you pick Currency for Data Type, Access sets the format based on your Windows Region settings.

However, as Bill said, you should be able to change just the format ... and it should stick! I do this too ...

by going to the Control Panel and to Region and setting the format there.

That's one of my big gripes with Access...the auto formatting of currency fields. I set a field to Currancy data type and set the format to fixed and it held. Maybe if it is an existing field with data already in it you will have to create a new field, set the format and then move the data to the new field.

Or you can change it to a number (decimal) and set the number of decimal places to 2 (or 4 if you want to comply with banking standards).

Dear All,
I set a currency field to fixed format with two decimals in table designing. When I saved the table and open it again, it returns back to currency with default system dollar sign again. How can I  turn off the money sign forever.By the way, I need the two decimals remained. Thanks in advance.
Best Regards,
Kevin
