That's one of my big gripes with Access...the auto formatting of currency fields. I set a field to Currancy data type and set the format to fixed and it held. Maybe if it is an existing field with data already in it you will have to create a new field, set the format and then move the data to the new field.
Or you can change it to a number (decimal) and set the number of decimal places to 2 (or 4 if you want to comply with banking standards).
