Hello,
I have the following scenario.
I have an existing Access application that is used to manage procurement.
Each Procurement Project has a Financier.
Each Financier allows various Procurement methods, such as International Competitive Bidding or Request for Quotation etc.
As part of the procurement process, a rather large document (about 70 pages in Word, 20,000+ words) is generated and is given to bidders.
At the moment, a chunk of this document is maintained outside the system in Word.
We would like this document to be generated by the system.
The following rules apply:
1) Each Financier has a standard document used for each of their Procurement Methods.
The document has sections that may be added or removed depending on the procurement method used.
For example, one document may have Sections A, B, C and D while another document may have sections B, D and E.
2) Within each section, there may be data to be looked up by the application, from within the application, such as a Bid Opening Date or Bid Security percentage. Ideally, the users should not be able to change such data in the document. I have a search and replace function that can do this nicely.
3) The document needs to have some formatting - bold, italics, some numbering - the more it can look like the current Word document, the better.
Any pointers on how this can be achieved?
Any existing applications that can be integrated with the current application to manage this?
Any ideas to achieve a similar result in a simpler way?
Is it too much?
Thanks.
Abraham
