James,
Can you explain "hard coded"?
I typically use DSN-less connections with code similar to Doug Steele's at http://www.accessmvp.com/DJSteele/DSNLessLinks.html.

Subject: [MS_AccessPros] Need to Move MS Access DB (hardcoded to SQL Server) to another SQL Server
We have a Access 2010 database that is hard coded into SQL Server 2008. It needs to be relocated to a different SQL Server. Is their a way to do that and maintain its current functionality?
Regards,
James E.
