I am starting a project that is a mix of wep page and database.
What I am doing is building a web site to record races (pigeon), times, distances etc and to generally provide info to our club. Ok with the basic web stuff, ok with basic Access and creating the odd database - nothing spectacular so far, but nothing ventured etc...
What I need to do is provide logins / passwords - or find a way to allow the members to create thier own for access to certain parts of the site.
This is a fairly brief description of what I suspect will be a fairly large project.
Questions : Can I have a database and website working together like this as an amateur - I know the big boys do this all the time!
Am I being too adventurous ?
I,ve done websites and linked them to paypal etc - but the complicated stuff to be fair is covered by them !
plus I need to be reasonably secure - I need to allow general access to the site while still allowing members to login, post thier details (birds) flying times etc, and to produce an online list of results available to all.
hints, tips and general guidance much appreciated, I have wanted to do this for a number of years, but as I now have time on my hands I want to give it a go.
Do I start with my database - or with my web site ?
