I thought I answered this but my post hasn't shown up.
The user needs create/delete permissions, too. When data is changed a locking file is created in the back end folder. When all close out of the application that file is killed. If the user cannot create in the back end, she gets a read-only version.
Also, each user has his own local copy of the front end, right? They aren't all sharing one on the server, right?
