RE: [MS_AccessPros] Report Sort Problem

Abdul-

Further comments: The data you're displaying will, of necessity, be sorted by OrderID to honor the grouping criteria. If there is related detail data, it will by default be sorted by the Primary Key of the table in which it resides. As noted below, if you want some other sequence, you have to define it. I would be there's a descending key defined on the table containing the data that you don't want sorted.

Abdul-

Not possible. In the absence of any sorting criteria, the sequence in which the rows get returned is undefined. Somehow the report engine has decided that sorting descending is the most efficient way to fetch the data. If you want some other sequence, you have to override it with sorting criteria.

Do you have any Grouping defined in the report? Would you prefer that the data
sort ascending? The Access report engine builds its own query to try to most
efficiently fetch the data required, and it may apply a sort. If you want the
data sorted some other way, you have to specify it.
