Might consider what problem or problems need be solved when determining what
data should be on the report or reports. Doing so can help to ensure that
the right data is present, not only on the report but in the database
itself. From years of helping organizations improve their processes and
begin to measure, most of the time, in their eagerness to collect and report
on data, they start out collecting data that really doesn't support their
business needs. The goal/question/metric paradigm will help to ensure that
the data being stored and retrieved will actually help to solve their
business problems.
