[MS_AccessPros] How expensive are attachment fields ? Opinions plz

 

I have a situation where I could either use a plain old checkbox as an indicator that a document is received. OR I could use an attachment field for 1 document and force my customer to scan a document.

If attachment fields are there but NOT used, do they consume great space?
