Re: [MS_AccessPros] free Data Dictionary tool

thanks, Duane. Yesterday, as I was importing just a few tables from a huge database, I thought how nice it would be to use a list filtered to what you want ... and the Data Dictionary tool has some cool filters, including multiple pattern matching conditions in any order ... so now I'm thinking of another form using a listbox instead of a combo for the tables, a browse button on to get the database you want a list for, a textbox for the path\file, another button to import or link to whatever tables are in the list, . I'm working on another form using the same filtering capabilities for a more advanced navigation pane -- aah, that is where the import/link stuff should be. Well, anyway, I think its pretty cool and has great possibilities for expansion! I'd love to know your opinions and ideas ~

Hi Crystal,
I haven't tried it since my Access development is very minor and I've got several projects that are taking most of my time. I'll try it soon...

hi everyone,

Do you want a way to easily?? get a Data Dictionary for any table in whatever database you have open? Look at this free Data Dictionary add-in:

http://msaccessgurus.com/tool/Addin_DataDictionary.htm

When you look at the design view of a table in Access, you have to click on each field, one at a time, to see properties like size, format, and default value. Now you can see this, and more, in one handy list.

Since this is just an ACCDB that has been renamed, it is free and not protected. If you've never installed an Access add-in, watch this video tutorial to see how to do it.

have an awesome day,
