Labels that are not the child of another control will have mouse events. You can test by dropping just a label control on a form and adding this code:
Private Sub Label29_MouseMove(Button As Integer, Shift As Integer, X As Single, Y As Single)
Me.Label29.Caption = "X: " & X & " y: " & Y
End Sub

Sorry, my bad, it must have been a Button, not a label. Labels don't have mouse events. Dooooohhhh.
