[MS_AccessPros] Help with Before Update Event

Hey All,

What I need is a before update event (I am guessing), on my form I have a combo box that our Product is selected (this form has numerous other controls). This DB has worked for 3 years like a dream with only minor issues (which is a blessing), now they want to track the treatment rate for one of the products.

I am going to design tables to hold the Treatment_Rate, Treatment and Barge_Treatment (some barges will have 2 different treatments "Barge_Treatment" form will be a pop up).

Question is how do I force them to call up the Treatment form, can it be done programically in a before update so that the form pops up when the record is saved or they try to leave the record.

Also I will be putting a check box for barges that were fueled which requires the fuel to be treated so can the before update also look at the check box and if it is checked call up the form, some of the treated barges will also require fueling so the form would only need called up once for them but I would put in 2 treatments (Barge_Treatment will have a ID Autonumber)

I have other forms that are called with buttons on the form for adding heating or delays but the EPA is requiring us to track the treatment now, so if someone forgets to fill out the treatment form they will go billistic; paperwork error is not acceptable to them.

Any help is appreciated
