Hi Florence
An Auto Number is not going to work for you unless you just need it to *display*
in forms and reports with leading zeros.
AutoNumbers are Long data types which means they are numbers. Only text data
types can have leading zeros.
So the question is: "Do you want numbers or text?" The numbers would be easier
to maintain because you can take advantage of the automatic incrementing.
Let us know so we can proceed to a viable solution for you.
And thanks for visiting my site and using the link.

Subject: [MS_AccessPros] Access 2003 - Need to AutoNumber starting with
000001...HELP
I'm creating a db in Access 2003 where they want the autonumbers to start with
six numerals as follows: 000001. Have been looking all morning for an answer.
Can anyone help me?
Thank you.
