The easiest way to do this is to use a combo box instead of a text box for both controls. You select a Category from cboCategory (a combo box. That will trigger the AfterUpdate event. With a little code you can filter the second combo box's list to fit the chosen category.
If you go to our Files/Samples folder you will see a sample named CascadeComboBikesSample.zip created by one of our Microsoft MVP members. It shows how to do what I have described.
