I'm looking for information on building a system with an Access front end and a SQL Server Express back end -- or recommendations for other tools, if you think something else would be better.
The people I'm making this for want some of the flexibility of Access, so they can make modifications and write queries, but they may have too much data for jet. They also don't have a lot of money to spend. On my end, most of my experience is with Access, so I'm hoping to find something that won't have too much of a learning curve.
Regarding SQL Express, I'm wondering if the Access query builder can be used with SQL Express tables, and am also looking for pointers on deployment.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
