That's not likely to help at all. RefreshLink simply re-fetches the table definition from the back end and makes sure the connection can be made. As soon as it is finished, the connection is dropped. The likely culprit in your case is problems in the network you're using. ODBC connections are "weak" only because they fail if the line hiccups.
