It's not so much the amount of data as the amount of simultaneous activity. How many users will be in the application at the same time?
You can actually support up to 100 simultaneous users if your application is designed carefully to limit the amount of data being moved over the network to each user. Go look in the Files / Articles_Excerpts section on the website for the two chapters I posted from the Building book.

Is that ok to use ms access as the backend for less than 50 people? Since there's attachment type field in the tables, it's not compatible with sql server.
