RE: [MS_AccessPros] error: error occurred while opening [form] do you want to continue to load the project

Glenn - That's Replicator. URL is karenware.com

Genie can back up open or locked files. The Replicator can't copy locked files. I don't know about open ones. And, unfortunately, the author recently passed away so I don't know if there is anyone who can answer that, but you might contact the site anyway. Or just test it for yourself.

Thanks Bill,

Is it "Relicator" or "Replicator?" How do these utilities handle the open file if you are working on it when the backup is triggered?

I take it one step further. I use a backup software that backs up every hour and I keep a history of 15 copies. That way if I blow up a form or some other object I can import it from a good copy. Karenware's Relicator is a good one and it's free. I use Genie Timeline Home.

Elizabeth,

I realize the horse has fled for now but during development, back up of the frontend is particularly important. I back up the frontend every time I open it to make changes. That's the first thing I do as soon as the file opens. If I am doing something particularly important I will back up the frontend several times in the course of a development day.

Hi,

My vba is corrupted but I can't decompile because the error message:

"error occurred while opening [form] do you want to continue to load the project?" will not go away if I hit yes, no, or cancel.  This error message even shows up if I open a new database and try to import via File-Get External Data.  I am in Access 2003 (and I corrupted it trying to open it in Access 2010).  I can use a back up copy of my front end but I don't backup my front end as much as my back end so I would lose a couple of things I've created lately.

Any help you could provide would be very appreciated!!!!

Thanks,

Elizabeth
