My thoughts on the Report view are that you filter the report based on the fields. Drilling down on the data is super helpful. We used to create so many reports with the same data but a different criteria. Now we can have a report and teach someone to filter it the way they want. You can also put buttons on the report to only show on screen to use as filters for the report. The buttons will not show up on the printed version.
That is why I thought that I would try a form also. I saw a Windows app that would like to mimic the dashboard. It is only a luxury to have, but it would look cool to reproduce in a database.
