Pros, some time ago I inquired about an update query possibly locking the whole table and it could have been correct. I changed the way I did things to now run an append query.
It seemed to have fixed things, but since we’d been running an older version (the update) and the newer version (the append) at the same time I would occasionally get the error.
Another complicated thing is that I’ve seen network interruptions lock the tables because Citrix doesn’t lose the connection or something.
However, I was wondering, that is it possible that an append query could lock an entire table?
