Matt-
If you're talking about keeping a recordset open (you didn't include the thread in your reply), that's a technique to use with linked shared tables on a network. It won't help for local tables.

John,
Would your way be more efficient for a network database or is it just preference? Trust me, any and all help to get this to perform correctly/faster is a help. I've now been able to un-classify the database so that I can have a working copy on my personal computer to work with it at home. So, from now one if I have a questions I'll be able to post the full code and make screen shots. Again, thank you and I look forward to your reply.
Thank you.
Matt
