Re: [MS_AccessPros] ACCESS 2010 FE/BE Server Issues!!!!

Matt-

When your app opens, I assume you load a "switchboard" form or some other starting form.  In that form, open a recordset on any linked table and leave it open for as long as the app is active.  That will greatly speed up the loading of other forms and reports.

John,

So I've dramatically decreased the time to open forms. My mistake. When I split the database I updated it with a "filter form" and depending on what options are selected a form.filter function happens upon opening up the Active Records form. What i forgot to do is delete the On Open filters that i previously had in the form. The form went from 2 1/2 - 5 mins to load to just under 30 secs. Pretty good i think. The funny thing is is that when i close out the form then reapply the filters and go back into it, it only takes about 4-5 secs. Is there anyway that i can "pre" load the tables when opening the databse? I wouldn't mind if the database took a little bit to load as long as all the forms load pretty quick.  Again, thank you for all your help. This database is working pretty well with all the suggestions that I see on this site along with the files.

Thank you,

Matt
