Thanks for posting your solution. I, too, am puzzled as to why tehother two DBs worked. Something about them must have been different.

Finally figured out the issue here. This computer is on a domain-based network. When I set up the computer, I set up the user on the network domain, but not the computer domain itself. Once I created the user on the computer domain, everything worked okay.
What puzzled me was that the same computer/user uses two other Access databases hosted on the same directory on the same server that didn't have this issue.
